1. Who can use HearMe
You must be 18 years or older to use HearMe. By creating an account you confirm you meet this age requirement. Accounts found to belong to minors will be closed.
2. What HearMe is — and isn't
HearMe hosts peer-support circle sessions guided by trained coaches. HearMe is not a substitute for professional therapy, counselling, or medical advice, and coaches are peer facilitators, not licensed mental-health professionals unless individually stated otherwise. In an emergency, use the crisis resources on our Safety page.
3. Community rules
By joining a room you agree to:
- Confidentiality — What is shared in a room stays in the room. Do not repeat, screenshot, record, or share anyone else's story.
- No recording — Recording audio or video of a session is strictly prohibited.
- Speak from your own experience — No judgment, no advice-giving unless asked, no diagnosing.
- Respect the coach — The coach may mute, pause, or ask you to leave to keep the room safe.
- No harmful content — No threats, harassment, hate speech, or content that promotes self-harm.
4. Coach role
Coaches on HearMe are trained peer facilitators. Unless a specific coach is identified as a licensed professional, they are not therapists, counsellors, or doctors, and their guidance is not a substitute for professional care.
5. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You may close your account and request deletion of your data at any time from the Privacy & Data page.
6. Right to remove
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules, put other participants at risk, or misuse the platform.
7. Limitation of liability
HearMe is provided "as is" as a peer-support service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HearMe is not liable for any decisions you make based on what happens in a session. If you are in crisis, please contact professional services immediately.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes require you to re-accept them before continuing to use the platform.
